I posted this tonight because a friend on FACEBOOK put up the blurb for his profile: John Doe.... "invented water" and it made me think of this series of radio and tv spots for Dos Equis beer...

It is one of the better beer ads, and is trumping the Budweiser "Real American Genius" franchise... no doubt...

here's some of the text...

We could go on and write more and more.... but I just wanted to share this... I am new to blogging and strangely (especially if you ask my live as well as virtual friends) I am speechless...

From the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA - Today turned out to be one of the best Spring Adventure days I can remember in the Philly area: My wife Dalia and I took my dog, Harley, and loaded up the minivan and set out to Green Lane Park in Montgomery County PA (near Perkiomenville and all the cool little towns like Shwenksville and Zeiglersville and Quakertown, and went to the 6th Annual WMGK102.9/Debella Dog Walk.

What a spectular surprise... it was worth the gasoline to make the trip. WMGK Jock John Debella hosted a plethora of events that just went to the dogs... There was a dog "Caricaturist" (I'll have to track down his name later - I volunteered to help off-load some of his patrons, but he was awesome and stayed extra to ahndle everyone who stood in line); there were sheep herding demonstrations, obstacle and jumping demos; food & drink - of the canine variety like Dogsters' Ice Cream for dogs; and a photographer that was donating money to dog-oriented rescue and humane causes.

Philadelphia started a new "no-kill" initiative this past January and is trying to find homes for all animals that are abandoned. Mayor Nutter and the City of Philadelphia has started a Spay or Nueter legislative effort and nowrequire and are enforcing the spaying or nuetering of any animal in Philadelphia within 6 months of birth of the animal. There are simply too many animals available for homesw that are of god stock and are just waiting to show some love to a good family...

You can see some of the scenic views of all these well-behaved dogs and their equally well respected owners and families that came to give and support good dog causes... There are pictures of my dog Harley, as well as many other dogs that were just having a good time.

Thanks WMGK and the airstaff and all the people who put this on! It was great!

We bought our dog a couple cool tie-dye shirts (a tie-muscle) and a cool bandana with horses on it...

Finally... my blogadelphia

Captain's log Phblogdate 03012008। I am finally setting course into the realm of blogging. My name is Kirk James Dupuis. I was born before Star Trek. They named him James Tiberius Kirk. Too close for a kid that was 5 when the first season started for Star Trek. So, I have come to feel comfortable with "Captain Kirk" as my nickname...

I am an artist... a visual creator... On the left is a partially completed image from a mural I did last year। It's a crawlspace door. The house belongs to a friend and former employer, Joe Paone III. The person in the picture is Ben Mannix, the son of his wife Carey. The scene is part of a complete room mural in the basement dedicated primarily to KISS the rockband. The ceiling features the "KISS-TINE CHAPEL".

If you knew Ben, you'd laugh yer ars off... I'll upload a finished pix later.
